What’s been happening:

Three months after graduation on December 17, 1942, I entered Western Reserve University Medical School. I married Audrey Seghers of Birmingham, MI, on May 19, 1945. I graduated in March 1946. I then had an internship in internal medicine and a year in pathology at University Hospitals of Cleveland. I was called to active duty in the Army in 1948, and I volunteered to serve in Japan. I was the laboratory officer in the 361st Station Hospital in Tokyo until I returned in 1950 to have another year in internal medicine and a year in cardiology. I began practice in Cleveland in 1952. I had 50 years of practice as a cardiologist and retired in 2002. During this time I began one of the first CCUs in the country in 1964 and set up the entire cardiology program for Fairview Hospital in Cleveland. We had a son, Andrew, who is general counsel for the Federal Reserve Bank in Cleveland. We had 3 daughters. Jocelyn is married to a real estate developer in Florida. The twins, Sheena and Shelley, are pursuing paramedical careers. Sheena is certified in echocardiography and is the cardiology coordinator for Geauga Hospital, near Cleveland. Shelley is a medical illustrator with her own company. It makes displays mainly for the legal profession in malpractice, product liability and patent cases. My autobiography, "The 80-Year Odyssey of a Cardiologist," is in the final stages of editing.
